EXTREME CONDITIONS
It's sometimes hard to believe it, but here in the the UK we have a particulary mild, gentle climate and few natural hazards. We never experience the sort of heat which can fry an egg on your car bonnet or the artic cold that freezes an engine solida. We don't have to worry about running into a tornado on the way to work, or losing our way in a sandstorm coming back from the superarket.
But you don't have to go far beyond these shores to experience some pretty serious natural hazzards. When driving abroad, particularly in more out of the way areas, its important to be on the alert for hazards that aren't farmiliar back home. Recognise that there are times, places and conditions when it simply isn't safe to be on the road, no matter how urgent your journey seems, and always heed the advice of local people about travelling conditions. |
