CAR HIRE IN LUXEMBOURG
All that many British drivers see of Luxembourg is the autoroute (toll-free) as they speed through on their way to Germany. But the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg merits a stop in its own right, particularly to explore the part of the Ardennes that lies within its borders.
FUEL
Fuel is relatively cheap in Luxembourg, and queues can form at filling stations as drivers from surrounding countries take advantage of this. Carrying spare fuel in cans is not permitted.
Traffic signs are posted in both French and German. Police are authorised to impose on-the-spot-fines. Drivers are required to flash their headlights before overtaking at night outside built-up areas. Blue Zone parking systems are in operation in the main centres. Parking metres are also used in Luxembourg City. |
