CAR HIRE DENMARK
Denmark's Fine network of uncrowded secondary roads makes it a good venue for holiday car hire. Look for the scenic Marguerite Route that takes in some of the finest sights. It's marked by signs showing a white daisy on a brown background. Motorways are toll free. Cycling is popular in Denmark, so take care in built-up areas and always check for approaching cyclists before crossing a cycle lane.
Ferries
Ferries can fill up at peak periods, so it pays to book them in advance. A timetable is available from FDM, the Danish motoring club that has offices in major towns. Denmark is now linked to Sweden by the 16km Oresund Bridge. A toll is payable, as it is on the Great Belt Connection between Zealand and Funen
Daytime Lights
A line of white triangles on the road means give way. Be prepared to give way to bicycles, and also to buses signalling to pull out. Use dipped headlights day and night. |
