For many centuries, Soller was isolated from Palma and the rest of the island because of the high mountains of Serra de Tramuntana which line the northwest coast of Mallorca. Soller lies in the middle of the mountain range and can be accessed via one of Europe's greatest journeys, the Palma-Soller train. After dismounting the train in Soller town, you can go down the port of Soller through a tram.
Right next the Soller port is the Marisol Café Restaurant. You can enjoy the wind while on its dining room that overlooks the port, and enjoy the bright sun on its lovely terrace. A wonderful stroll can also be taken along the bay on the paved walkway while enjoying the mountain views surrounding the Port de Soller. You may also take boat trips and experience the rugged coastlines of northwest Mallorca.
Souvenir shops and food places are spread on the road across the tram stop. Right up the hill to the Ermita Sta. Catalina, there are a number of restaurants that have outdoor terraces overlooking the breathtaking bay. Museu de la Mar, the Soller Maritime Museum is atop this hill. This is a particularly impressive location to view the rough seas and hear the waves batter on the rocks below.
