For many centuries, Soller was isolated from Palma and the rest of the island because of the high mountains of Serra de Tramuntana which line the northwest coast of Mallorca. Soller lies in the middle of the mountain range and can be accessed via one of Europe's greatest journeys, the Palma-Soller train. This is a particularly impressive location to view the rough seas and hear the waves batter on the rocks below.
